Grace and Peace

Tuesday, May 17, 2011
I once heard a sermon from Rob Bell about Grace and Peace. My academic advisor always signed her emails Grace and Peace. I decided one day I would name my dogs Grace and Peace but in different languages. So people would be like what does that mean and id say "oh Grace and Peace". I think that when we are reading the New Testament, or at least when I read it, I tend to skip the greeting to get to the meaty stuff. Have you ever noticed how many New Testament books of the Bible have Grace and Peace in the first chapter? Its a lot...go look. But anyhow, at aboveground we are looking at 1st Peter. In chapter 1 it says "Grace and peace be yours in abundance." Which is pretty great I thought...then I took a quick look at 2nd Peter.. to find "Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord." The words that stand out there to me (other than grace and peace). YOURS, ABUNDANCE, KNOWLEDGE OF GOD, OUR LORD. So...the grace and peace is OURS we can and should have a whole ton of it because we know that God is our Lord and Savior!

For Kimbo

Dear Kim,
I love that you read my blog. Today I miss you greatly. The weather here sucks...so we would have to live in the same dorm in order to see each other. :) I love that we were cousins separated at birth and basically have the same last name and God brought us back together :)...I love that you write on my wall and tell me to blog. I love that you are going to Alaska this summer and I cannot wait to hear about it and to see your wonderful pictures! I love that we will live in the same dorm next year. I still love the fact that during a crappy day you came to give me a hug in Baldwin and I started sobbing because I felt like you would understand me more than anyone. hahaha im tearing up just writing this to you! I love that our Mom's are friends and whenever we are with each other and they call and we say "Im hanging out with Kim" or "im hanging out with Paige" they respond "Oh I love Paige/Kim" I had such a great year and I owe a lot of that joy to you! I'm excited to share next year and years to come with you! I love you more than you know!!!!!!

I took this one of my Mom's facebook. The caption is "Paige and Kim, they must be long lost twin sisters"
This one says it all :) PURE JOY

Road Trip to Greenville

I had been home for 2 weeks. It was awesome and all but it was time to take a break and go somewhere. I decided I would go visit Matt at his school.....since they still had school haha. Tom accompanied me on the voyage and helped share the drive etc.

After forever driving south we finally got there. It was so fun to see another small Christian school and to get a peek into Matt's life at school. Tom and I were often obnoxious about the fact that we didn't have school anymore. We met his friends, ate meals together, went to a lake near by, visited Matt at work, and other shenanigans. Keep in mind that it was in the 80's and 90's while we were there. Matt's group of friends were awesome, it was great to match names with faces.

I decided that it felt like camp to me since I didn't have to take classes. Eventually it was time to head up north again through tons of rain and into colder weather.

Tom and I really loved the Grenville sign so we insisted that picture were taken by it.

Fake Tattoo's

Wednesday, May 4, 2011
I have been taking my time as I unpack from school and put things away in my room here. While doing this task I came across my temporary tattoo's. I've always saved them...no real reason as to why but you just never know when you need a fake tattoo. So I picked a random one and put it on my ankle.
This is the one I picked. Its the Nesquik bunny. Totally random but awesome. My mom has had a cold and a lot on the to-do list. So I decided that she needed a fake tattoo as well. She picked out this one.
Fake tattoos are a great reminder to just have fun and enjoy life and not take yourself too seriously!
